Interview with Helmuth Ritzer from PlayStation-Disorder

June 23rd, 2008 | Category: Interview, PS3

I have had the pleasure of Interviewing the owner of a great website that i urge you to check out and subscribe to, Helmuth runs PlayStation-Disorder so here is the interview in full

Tell us a bit about yourself

Helmuth Ritzer is the name, I am 44 years old and I am living close to Stuttgart, which is in the south of Germany. During day hours I am an IT guy.

Tell us about your site

The site is not so much one of those typical news update sites that basically replicate the news from kotaku or Joystiq all over the place. I really like to comment on a few things that come to my mind and either excite or frustrate me. Even though this is a PS3 site you find of course news on other consoles. beside that I track all of my games within the database. Call me crazy, but I guess it’s fair to say that I am a Playstation fanboy.

How long has your site been going for?

Well, I started playstation-disorder.com over two years ago mainly as a companion site for the PS3 launch here in Europe, which we all know got delayed shortly after

June 14th, 2008 | Category: Interview, Retro

We have an exclusive interview with the Editor of Retro Gamer Magazine, the magazine is a MUST READ every issue, a big thank you to Darren and Retro Gamer Magazine for this. Here it goes(edit: Thanks to Greg Richmond for the idea to interview Darran)

Tell retrozoid.net a bit about yourself

My name’s Darran Jones and I’m the editor of Retro Gamer. I’m 34 years old and have lived in the Bournemouth/Poole area all my life.

Tell us about your job role at Retro Ramer

I’m the editor, so ultimately I’m responsible for quality control within the magazine, its actual content and I even write the odd article or two. It’s an incredibly hectic job, but also one that’s amazingly rewarding.

How long have you worked at Retro Gamer and do you enjoy your job?

I’ve been in charge of the magazine ever since it relaunched in December 2007. I absolutely adore my job, as it’s challenging, enjoyable and there’s always something new to do. There’s nothing more satisfying that holding a magazine you’ve helped create at the end of a long, hard month.

Our interview with Jason from retrogames.co.uk

June 11th, 2008 | Category: Interview, Retro

We have had the privilage to interview Jason who owns and runs a great website called Retro Games. Here is the full interview

So then tell our readers a bit about yourself.
Yeah no problem. Im Jason Moore and im 37 and from Milton Keynes

Tell us a bit about your website
I run www.retrogames.co.uk  While retrogames, retrogamer, and retrogaming are common terms now, until we started advertising in 1995, the words retro and games weren’t associated. The retrogames site started back in 1997, primarily to list all our inventory for sale, and to help guide people to the Retrogames magazine which was enjoying success at the time. The last issue of the Retrogames magazine was in 2004, but the site continues to grow, and now has biggest inventory of classic games and machines for sale on the web

What made you want to start this website?
When retrogames started in 1995 as a magazine, I started listing games at the back, and helped improve my own collection by selling and trading them. That part of the magazine grew and grew, before long I was making 30 page catalogs and sending them out to hundreds of collectors every few months. The internet was a brilliant replacement for this process, initially our site was full of static lists of games, but now the retail part of the site has grown into a massive shop.
