So this will blow you away… not too sure about the retro side though (sorry Oldskool) maybe there will be retro games realeased on XBLM.
Stay tuned to the notes left about the event!
Oh and lets not forget who’s hosting the show! Gemma Atkinson and Iain Lee! Well I want to see more of Gemma than anything else so expect me to have a restraing order in place!
Retro : Guitar Hero on the C64
You read it correct, some genius (or maniac, you decided) has wired a Guitar Hero set-up to his C64 and even programmed a version of the game to go along with it!! There are some serious C64 enthusiasts out there and this highlights the dedication of some people to the humble 8-bit.
It includes a custom built “PSX64″ interface to plug in his PS2 guitar which is currently in production for a commercial release along with the game on disk. Entitled “Shredz64″ the game sounds great through the C64’s famous SID chip and the gameplay is amazingly accurate considering it’s host platform with correctly played notes increasing your score and applause meter, if your applause drys up its all over!! The song line up includes Hotel California and Ghostbusters among others and the ability to import your own tunes has been confirmed.
The game is availible in download form HERE and when I get more specific release details for the commercial package I’ll let you all know.
