Retrospective: Resident Evil 2(PSOne)
Back in 1998 Capcom released then sequel to the popular Resident Evil. This time the game was spread over 2 discs and boasted a lot more zombies and gore.

Resident Evil 2 takes place a few months after the end of the first game. Raccoon City is now overrun with zombies, crows and other beasts, all intent on wiping out whichever of the two characters you’ve chosen to play, Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield, the sister of Chris Redfield from the first game. Character selection in Resident Evil 2 has a much bigger impact on how you play the game than it did in the original. The zombie’s don’t take it any easier on the fairer sex. Now, when you finish the game using one of the characters, you keep your game data and start over with the other character. And what you did the first time through the game impacts the scenarios you face as the other character. This is easily Capcom’s biggest improvement and bolsters Resident Evil 2’s replayability tremendously.
There are new weapons available in this game, the addition of a machine gun, C4 and grenade launchers added new life into the game. There are also better FMV sequences and a lot better areas that you play in.
The media welcomed this game and gave good reviews of Resident Evil 2. GameSpot gave it 8.9/10 and Moby Games gave it 94%. Not to mention the sales recorded over 4.9 Million copies sold since its release back in 1998.
